Buff Away Grout Haze with Carpet

When I tile a backsplash or floor, I like to use a scrap piece of carpet to clean off the grout haze and to buff the tiles to a shine in one easy step. The carpet fibers are slightly more abrasive than a sponge or cotton rag, but not too much so that it will scratch the tiles. It just removes the grout haze quicker and with less elbow grease! — Matthew Farmer

If you don’t have a clean scrap piece of carpet handy, most home improvement stores have small square samples available for free. And you can choose the type of carpet fiber that best suits your needs.
