Right after finding out that Chip and Joanna Gaines will be back on television soon, Magnolia (the company run by this powerhouse couple) announced that their new network will actually replace one of the most popular DIY networks already on air: Discovery’s DIY Network.

According to PEOPLE magazine, DIY Network reaches more than 52 million U.S. homes, which is a huge audience for the Gaines’ new network. The official switch will happen in summer 2020.

While Fixer Upper (the Gaines former hit television show on HGTV) focused specifically on fixing up old homes for couples. This new network will cover a wider variety of subjects. It will feature long-form programming still focused on home and design, but also other subjects including community, gardening, food, wellness and entrepreneurialism.

A spokesperson for Chip and Joanna Gaines told PEOPLE “our goal for this multi-platform media company is to deliver a unique, inspiring and family-friendly content experience rooted in history and authenticity—the kind of programming that helps bring people together.”

The network will be available both on a normal television, but also on a mobile app called TV Everywhere. There’s also talk of a subscription streaming service to debut later. Chip and Joanna Gaines will carry the titles of Chief Creative Officers.

“Our intention with this network is to create and curate content that inspires, encourages and helps to build bridges across our communities. We want honest, authentic programming that brings families together,” said Chip and Joanna in a joint statement.

Summer 2020 can’t come soon enough!

In the mean time, did you hear Joanna Gaines released a new line of paint? Looks like it’s time to prep the house for painting.
