Euro-Hinge Drilling Jig

European Hinge Jig

Travis’ homemade drill jig caught my eye when he was drilling holes for Euro-style hinges.

“I was always hesitant to use those hinges, drilling the large mounting hole and all,” he said. “But it’s fast and easy to install them since I built this simple jig to guide the drill bit.”

The jig is made from two short boards screwed together with a guide hole drilled in one board. Both sides of the jig are labeled “end” with an arrow pointing to the end of the door. Travis clamps the jig flush to the door side with the arrow end flush with the end of the door. Then he drills the hole, flips over the jig and clamps it to the other end of the door. The “end” arrow automatically goes in the right direction.
