Reader Project: Garden Tractor Built With Junkyard Car Parts

Several years ago, Keith Rider got an oxy/acetylene torch for Christmas and was aching for a project. When he came across plans for a homemade garden tractor, his obsession began. The homemade tractor plans were more than 45 years old, so Keith spent his nights lying awake, mentally manufacturing his garden tractor from newer parts. After months of planning and scrounging in the junkyard, he spent many blissful hours building this one-of-a-kind workhorse. Check out this crazy DIY project that involves a vehicle.

“At first, my wife thought I had lost my mind. When I spent three weekends at the local junkyard, she was sure of it.” — Keith Rider
